Qualifications necessary to be a Volunteer Tutor are as follows:
  1. A high school graduate level of reading and writing
  2. Completion of twenty hours of tutor training
Volunteer commitment is as follows:
  1. Two hours of one-on-one literacy tutoring per week.
  2. Preparation of a lesson for each session which takes approximately thirty minutes per week.
  3. A two year commitment to tutor with Sanilac Literacy Council.
  4. Communicate with Sanilac Literacy Council as requested or needed.
